Originally uploaded by ~maan~

Tallulah came home from school last Friday with a loot bag filled with candies, these cute trolls, and some colorful veggie erasers (i'll post pictures of the erasers soon, haha, deprived). Anyway, so meron pa palang trolls, wala lang, na-excite lang ako. :D

More troll lovin' shots here! :D

Tallulah's Field Trip

09/30/2010. This was Tallulah's second time in Manila Ocean Park (the first time was in 2008). I was one of the parent volunteer escorts and during the briefing, we were told that each parent will be assigned to watch over two kids. I was given only one kid to take care of, Tallulah - I still wonder why :D

Here are my fishy-fishy shots! :D

Spell Hanna Tallulah

Izy (my niece): Tallulah, can you spell your name?
Tallulah: (trying to spell Hanna) Uhm, H...B...
Maan: Tallulah, it's A, not B.
Tallulah: Can I have my ID?

It Works!

After we’ve said our prayers last night before bedtime, the girls and I heard Danny snoring before he could even say his own prayers. I told the girls, “Oh, never mind, Daddy’s already sleeping,” but Tallulah yelled, “DADDY!!! WAKE UP!!! Startled, Danny started mumbling his prayers. Tallulah then looked at me and said, “See? It works!” :D

"Sabihin Mo, Ikaw Ay Pilipino..."

Sofia and her classmates were exempted from wearing Filipiniana yesterday because their class and another Kindergarten class performed in the school's Linggo ng Wika program. So I was right there in front of the stage (as in super front row) and the emcee started giving introduction from which you could tell it will be the little kids' turn to perform, and so I looked down to adjust some settings in my camera, looked up and voila! Ako na yung nasa likod! The little space between the first row (from my seat) and the stage was miraculously filled with excited parents! Grabe, 'di ko alam kung saan sila nanggaling! :D

Anyway, I was still able to take some pictures and a short video clip (with some Dad's hairy arm, hehe) of my litte girl singing. Proud mom! :D

Linggo ng Wika

Here's Tallulah wearing Filipiniana for their school's Linggo ng Wika program today. It's the same dress Sofia wore last year. Tipid, hehe. I am bringing the girls to school today. Stage Mom. :D

Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar

We brought the girls to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan last Saturday because we thought the girls could use some vacation before the schoolyear starts this Tuesday.

We stayed overnight at Binondo House. Here's Tallulah patiently posing for me in the Master's bedroom, munching bread on the stairs leading to 2 more bedrooms and a spacious azotea, and playing with the harp in the sala.
That's Sofia walking (not yet on her Daddy's shoulders) during the guided heritage tour and sitting behind that capiz window in the Master's bedroom.
The girls enjoyed the pool, as usual. They ran around the entire place, watched DVDs when they got bored, and played sungka in the reception's office.
Good times! View more photos of the place here and here.

Cup Issue

Tallulah: Mommy, can you buy me a bra?
Maan: What?! What are you going to use it for?
Tallulah: ...because Shakira's wearing one.

...so now the girls are into bellydancing. :D

Easter Sunday 2010

...another long overdue post.. :D

Aside from the usual egg-hunting, we had a "Jazz Up Your Egg" contest this time, and here are the kids' masterpieces...jaraaaaan! :D
Of course, Sofia won! She tied with her cousin Izy, actually. The judge, by the way, is my ever biased sister-in-law, Cyn, who recently confessed that her favorite pamangkin is Sofia. :DI kinda like Tallulah's rebellious take on her egg though. :D(Notice the girls' skin color in their photos - tanned from too much swimming in Palawan!)

Palawan!

...super long overdue post! :D

The girls spent a whole week in Palawan last, well, Holy Week, swimming either:
at the Inflatable Pool......or at the beach (that's The Dad in the photo). - love, love, love this pic!
Good times!

Tallulah's going to preschool!

After taking several days off from work - to file Tallulah's application for nursery, to bring her for assessment/interview, to get the assessment's result, and to finally enroll her - Tallulah's going to preschool this coming schoolyear! She's so super excited to...play! So I'm saying hello to the school's guidance counselor, in advance. Knock on wood. :D

Sofia's School Play

Sofia's School Play

Dress Rehearsal
05 March 2010
Sofia and her classmates, off-stage
Sofia's a shy girl so I was worried that she might have cold feet and not perform on stage if she sees all the parents watching and swarming the stage to take pictures/videos of their little ones, but she surprisingly came out on stage looking confident and pretty excited. She's a waling-waling, by the way. Sofia earlier told me that she wished she got the role of one of the main characters of the play. I even heard her several times at home reciting lines which, I learned during the rehearsal, were not even her lines. I told her, maybe next year, she might just get the lead role if she learns to speak straight Filipino - she's still bulol at times. :D But she still enjoys being a waling-waling. :)I am amazed at how these little children can pull off a two-hour super cute stage play! Kudos to the school's faculty and everyone else behind it! Can't wait to watch it again on Gala Night when everyone will be seated, thank God! :D During the rehearsal, I had to squeeze myself into a pool of parents (all grabbing their humongous DSLRs or the tiniest videocams) just to get a closer view of Sofia singing and dancing on stage. Stage Mom, haha!

Anger Issue

One night we were having dinner...

Sofia: Mommy, do you have anger issues?
Maan: What?!
Sofia: (a little impatient) I said, do you have anger issues?
Maan: (a little shocked..hehe) What? Why are you asking me that? What does that mean?
Sofia: (speaks matter-of-factly) It's when you’re angry, you cry and you get so mad.
Maan: What? Where do you learn these things?
Sofia: From Izy (her 8-year old cousin)
Maan: Are you guys watching too much TV? (Pause) No baby, I don’t have anger issues.

:D

Comparison of Adjectives

After eating too much cookies, I gave Tallulah her 'last' cookie for the night...

Tallulah: Mommy, can I have one more, please?
Maan: No. You just ate your last cookie.
Tallulah: Please? This is the 'laster'.
Maan: What?!
Tallulah: Okay, the 'lastest'! (sya pa ang galit, hehe)
Maan: (?!) No! When you say it’s the last, it IS the last. No more laster or lastest!

:D

The Girls in Baguio

January, I think, is the best time to visit Baguio, because (Christmas) holidays are over and Penagbenga (flower festival) is still a few weeks away, and hence, the place is not too crowded and traffic is not so bad. It is also the coldest time of the year in Baguio...brrr...
Okay. So this is, for the girls, always the best part of our Baguio trip - horseback riding! Not for me though. I hate the smell of horses' poop. Oh well, whatever makes the girls happy. Now, the stairs going to The Mansion was a challenge for Tallulah because she doesn't really like walking or running - she prefers sitting on her Dad's shoulders (just like what happened last year). This time, she made it to the top with her Dad just holding her hand, yay! :DMines View. For PhP50, we were allowed to take three (3) pictures of the gang with these big doggies (using my camera). These cute dogs are soooo heavy! We brought the kids to Tam-Awan Village hoping that a 'little hiking' would tire them since the place has several trails which they could climb and explore. Well, they didn't get tired. We (the adults) did. :DStill in Tam-awan, we had the kids sit for like fifteen (15) minutes while local artists draw/sketch their portraits for PhP100 each. The portraits didn't look exactly like them but the kids not running around (almost not moving!) for 15 minutes was almost like ART. :D We also explored Camp John Hay, bought the girls' favorite, ube jam, at Good Shepherd and tried strawberry ice cream at La Trinidad.
Till next time!

Tallulah's 4!

Tallulah turned 4 yesterday (Jan. 10) and we celebrated it a day earlier at home with some close friends and family. It was actually a triple birthday celebration because Tallulah shares the same birthday with her cousins Cuy and Izy.
Tallulah had a grand time opening her gifts! :)My sis-in-law brought a bubble machine and WE all went wild! :DYup, it's that red gown again (she refused to wear something else). Hazel here was trying to borrow Tallulah's 'princess' earrings, but to no avail. :DWe got her this since she's into hairstyling lately. I hope this doll will make her leave our hair alone..for a while..hehe. For those who came, thanks for making my girl's day! All photos are here.

Sofia: It was fun.
Maan: How much fun was it?
Sofia: Bongga!
